As the design for this competition evolved, we have decided to give it the title Twining with Chestnut hill and Mount Airy. With Germantown Avenue running across the three city neighbourhoods, Chestnut hill is a well-planned city with small gardens, beautiful buildings and landscape and a variety of amenities such as shopping centres, schools, restaurants and relaxation centres. Mt. Airy is known for being culturally diverse and its residents liberal. It comprises of various styles of buildings and beautiful landscape scenery. The idea was to give Chelten Avenue a form of revival by looking into its neighbouring towns and imbibing the strategy that works for them. This will be achieved by proposing street pockets that can accommodate businesses and activities that are successful in Chestnut hill and Mt. Airy in order to improve the status of Chelten Avenue and inviting people into the district by making it livelier.
